Software as a Service
The Software as a Service (SaaS) software delivery model in which DSI provides a configurable software platform, hosting, maintenance, daily technical operation, and support of the software for our clients, allows DSI to apply economies of scale to the operation of our software application.
Morevover, DSI’s multi-tenant approach allows us to have one software version supporting all of our clients. That is, DSI is able to configure unique client instances and projects, work flows, and branding allowing clients the ability to define what is collected and how it is reported. Finally, all clients are running on the latest version of our software and have access to updgrades and new functionality as they are released.
This unique approach means we can offer our clients less expensive, better quality, and highly reliable applications. Program administration activities are managed from DSI’s central location rather than at each customer's site, enabling customers to access applications remotely via the Internet. This approach eliminates the need for our users to download software and ensures trouble-free transactions.
Data Solution’s technology is a web-based application designed to allow for quick access and response times. The system does not require specific software installation on an end user’s computer to access or participate. Some basic elements that are required:
- A connection to the internet
- Any 4.0 compatible internet browser (i.e. Internet Explorer or Netscape)
- Ability to access secured pages (SSL). 128 bit encryption preferred but 40 bit encryption supported.
- JavaScript must be enabled in the browser for client side validation (enabled by default in most browsers)
- Cookies must be enabled in the browser (enabled by default in most browsers)
Infrastructure
DSI's dedicated systems are co-located in a professionally managed, tier 1 data center providing a zero maintenance environment for our clients. The data center provides a better way to achieve high quality server management, data storage, backups, network access, security, and reliability. The DSI servers are configured with redundant power supplies, the latest in firewall security, hot swappable disks, and dual DS3 Internet connections to ensure uninterrupted access. High speed servers support large scale data collection all over the world.
